Auto Tune

I finally found the software that has been driving me crazy for years! I knew all those Disney and other movies had something weird going on with the singer's voices, and I knew they were being modulated somehow. Well, here is at least one piece of software that makes them sound so fabricated and unrealistic.

So I saw this over at graphjam.com and I think they got it pretty close.

Saving Youtube vids

So... Apparently there are sites out there that will save the videos for you, but what if they are injecting extra stuff into your download? Here's a way that is almost too easy and simple, but awesome.

1. Go to options -> advanced -> network (If you're not using firefox, I'm not even sorry. You should know better!), and make sure you have at least 100mb or so to save your movie in. Clear the cache now so you can easily find your file.

2. Go to about:cache and copy and paste the cache URL, and open it up in a file explorer.

3. Open up youtube and keep refreshing the directory that is saving the file. You should see it get bigger.

4. After the file completely caches, you can copy it somewhere else and rename it something.flv and watch it with a nice player like VLC media player.

5. Profit

Star Dust

One of the most entertaining movies I've watched in the recent years:

Firefox ctrl+mousewheel

One of the old Firefox versions had a preference in the UI to allow different options for mousewheel use, such as multi-line and full-page mouse scroll. Well, one of my favorite was being able to make holding down control scroll a whole page. Useful in a lot of situations such as super long pages where I need to get back up to the top of the screen, or laggy computers where I need to be able to easily scroll a page at a time. Or if, for any reason, I don't want to have to scroll so much.

Anyway,
in Firefox go to
about:config

mousewheel.withcontrolkey.action

set it to 1

Let me know if you feel like you are finally living now.

Oh. And if you're viewing this with I.E. you may as well just click the little X at the top of your screen. Or better yet, push Alt+F4. Or just pack your computer up and put it back in the box.

Youtube playlists

So, I had found a couple playlists with some DDR music that I liked, and at least half of the music in the playlist that I didn't like. Along with some other random songs I made a playlist of stuff that I pretty much like. Here's the link:
